The patented stain of Bacillus subtilis in HiStick NT is MB1600.  When applied properly  in the hopper box, it quickly establishes itself on the seed and developing root surface.  As the peanut plant grows, it colonizes the root surface.  This provides a repellent effect against diseases, as well as a physical barrier against intrusion by fungi. 

When used in conjunction with conventional seed treatment fungicides, Bacillus subtilis extends disease protection after synthetic materials have provided critical two- to three-week  disease suppression after planting.  This makes HiStick NT ideal for an effective Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
